Dick, invented the "SciFi Noir" (or "neo noir") genre and has been imitated, or paid homage to, many times since its release in 1982, but never matched. As long as we control it we are comfortable with it. Producer Michael Deeley was pursued at the time by Brian Kelley to make a film based on Dick's DADOES, he read the book and wasn't interested.
